Hi – I’m Jennifer.
As an experienced foster carer and pillar of the community, I can connect with individuals and stakeholders from all social classes.
During my career, I have coordinated numerous community projects and managed teams. My mission and vision throughout my career have been to help people achieve their true potential. With over 40 years of experience working with Youth/NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) and running my own consultancy business, these types of people are my heart. I founded Spirit Arts Youth, a company to help young people achieve their full potential.
I control resources and budgets and am determined to help young people achieve their destinies by utilizing a combination of education, training, coaching, and mentoring. I have trained ex-offenders from The Youth Offending Team and collaborated with multiple clients from Connexions, offering Work Readiness programs (Freestyle). I have also worked with Teen Mothers (Buggies to Briefcase), showing teenage mothers opportunities to fulfil their potential and become entrepreneurs, and trained clients of GLLAB (Greenwich Local Labour and Business) for Ready for Work. Additionally, I have offered Job Centre Plus clients Work Ability Skills, covering CV writing, Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG), and interview techniques.
As the Founder and Director of Spirit Arts Youth, I have offered E2E, and Life Skills funded by The Learning & Skills Council with an annual budget of £0.4 million. I spearheaded "Removing the Mask," a project addressing issues individuals hide behind. I have also helped schoolchildren with behavioural problems.
I have been nominated for, and won, several awards for my work with young people, including an award from the EFBWBO sponsored by the Learning & Skills Council in 2005. I was also a Lace Award finalist in 2005, and a Wise Woman Awards finalist in 2011. I am dedicated to enthusiastic and dynamic training to create lifelong progress. Throughout my career, I have worked with over 3,000 young people in the community and faith organizations (churches).
When I am not training staff and foster carers within the London Boroughs of Bromley and Lambeth, you will find me watching unsolved crime documentaries or singing to music as I drive!
